Village Town House
I am a lover of Victorian and an early 20th Century houses, but to be honest, they are not always as well built as people think they are.
Often bland on the outside and dark on the inside; renovation and modernisation seems to an endless task.
They are also usually pretty uniform. Modern houses are frequently described as ‘identikit’, but large scale house building was ever thus.
On the other hand, you have this. An individually built, renovated, remodelled and modernised stunner of a house that deserves a place in any Victorian House Hall of Fame.
It has a small extension on the rear that when added to remodelled back of the house has created a huge open plan lounge-diner-kitchen, a space ideally suited to a big family spending a lot of time together.
The rest of the house is a master class in space. The owners have left unfurnished spaces in hallways, bay windows and bedrooms. The sense of space in this house gives it and the owners space to breath, to take stock and consider what really matters.
